Srirangapatna is one of the lesser known towns located around Bangalore and one that you must visit if you haven’t already been here. Home to the Mausoleum and the Palace of Tipu Sultan, Srirangapatna has lots of sight-seeing opportunities. Among the sightseeing spots, the best are the Ranganathaswamy Temple, the Tipu Sultan Palace, Daria Daulat and the beautiful Srirangapatna Fort. You would ideally need about one and a half day at Srirangapatna so it is the perfect spot for a weekend getaway.

If you’ve got grumbling tummies, head to Kushalanagar and eat the Rajma Puri they serve, you will only want to keep eating more.

Ooty, one of the most sought-after weekend getaway destinations for those looking for an escape, is located at a distance of approximately 270 kilometres from Bangalore. The town is a quick break, away from the noisy city life that we are constantly entangled in, throughout the week. Offering an opportunity to weekenders to get some fresh air while they marvel at the beauty of the verdant landscapes of Ooty, this city also has the Doddabetta Peak, the holy Pykara River, the Kamaraj Sagar Dam, the Emerald Lake and the Mukurthi National Park. If you have more time on hand, take off to Coonoor in the Toy Train for other beautiful scenes that please your senses, all at once.
